Red Ribbon Ride 2008

This year I will be participating in the annual Red Ribbon Ride. For those who do not already know, the Red Ribbon Ride is a 300 mile, 4 day, bike ride to raise money for people living with HIV/AIDS in Minnesota. I am happy to say that this will be my fourth Red Ribbon Ride. After this year, I will have raised over $6,000 and will have ridden 1,200 miles, not including training miles. I remember signing up the first year and how nervous I was. I was nervous because I didn’t know if I’d be able to ride all of those miles and, as well, to conquer the huge challenge of raising the large amount of money needed to even be able to ride. To ride, one must raise $1,500. Luckily, I know some generous people that have donated to me every year - year after year. This continued support has enabled me to partake in this ride and keep my commitment to these beneficiaries that depend on this money to keep their doors open.

HIV/AIDS is still a crisis in Minnesota. Every 27 hours someone finds out the terrible news that they are HIV positive and their life will never be the same. Each one of these people needs somewhere to turn to. Most likely, they will need to engage one of the seven beneficiaries of the Red Ribbon Ride, which include:

  • African American AIDS Task Force
  • The Aliveness Project
  • Clare Housing
  • Hope House of St. Croix Valley
  • Minnesota AIDS Project
  • Park House
  • Rural AIDS Action Network (RAAN)

I am inviting you to join me in the opportunity to change lives. Please consider a generous, tax deductable donation this year to the Red Ribbon Ride under my name. I need to raise $1,500 to ride; but more importantly, people need these organizations to survive. Please help me to enable these beneficiaries to help the people living with HIV/AIDS in Minnesota. You can donate by clicking here or by copying the following link into your browser. Then click on the button that says, “Click here to make a gift to Michael.”

Thank you in advance for donating. I would especially like to thank the people that have donated year after year.

Michael

P.S. For those of you that know my roommate, Eric, he has decided to crew this year instead of riding. Please don’t worry about having to split your donations like last year. J
