A friend sent me the following slide show a few days ago that I felt was worth sharing. You can find it here. I also want to mention that most grocery stores now sell cloth bags for about a dollar. If you are from St. Cloud, both Coborn’s and Cub Foods do. I have had them for about a year now and they work great and are way more sturdy than plastic or paper bags. I keep them in my trunk so I have them available whenever I want to go grocery shopping. This slideshow points out many interesting facts. I was surprised at how many third-world countries have banned plastic bags or have banned free plastic bags and yet little has been done in Minnesota. The only place that I know of that charges for plastic bags is IKEA.
